AutoEvolution.com just released more spy-shots of the Vanquish Volante that is currently testing in Sweden. These new pictures are taken from close by, giving us a better look at the car. The only camouflage left is the fake spoiler that seems to be fit over the real Vanquish spoiler and some tape over the rear lights.
We’ve already seen some photoshops of what a Vanquish Volante could look like. But now we’re offered a closer look at the real thing. A photographer of the Dutch website AutoWeek.nl has spotted the upcoming Vanquish Volante while testing in a snowy environment in Sweden.
ON ICE is Aston Martin’s yearly ice driving event in St. Moritz. During the one-day event, customers can drive the available Aston Martin models, learning how to control the cars in snowy conditions and of course having fun going side-ways. This year for the first time, an advanced edition of ON ICE was organized, called ON ICE FROST, especially for drivers who had previously participated in the regular ON ICE event. Having done ON ICE last year, I was invited to join the FROST day this year. Last Saturday was the big day. Just like last year, I absolutely loved drifting the different Aston models (including the new Vanquish!), especially in this beautiful environment. However, I must say I was a bit disappointed in the “advanced” FROST program.

Aston Martin ON ICE 2013 has started! Between February 4 and February 15, Aston Martin owners get the chance to take several factory cars out on the snow for a fun day of driving tests and of course lots of drifting. I will be leaving for St. Moritz tomorrow, to participate in the special FROST edition on Saturday. A friend of mine is doing ON ICE today and he just send me these pics. Ooooh, can’t wait to go sideways in that golden Vanquish!
The Kroymans Aston Martin dealer was the gathering place for yesterday’s meeting of the dutch Power Beauty Soulmates club. Twelve Aston Martin’s arrived around noon for coffee, then left for a nice tour through the center of the Netherlands.
This is a 1964 Aston Martin DB5, recently found in a barn in the UK, and in great condition. According to the reports, the most recent owner purchased it in 1972, for £1,500. After being used for a few years, the car has been stored in a garage for over 30 years.
Well duh… to the new Vanquish of course. At the Festival Automobile International in Paris, the Vanquish has won the award for “The most beautiful Supercar of the Year”. This is the second time an Aston has won this award. The same prize went to the Rapide in 2010.
Another scary image found on Twitter, posted by racing driver Brian Makse. Brian found this ticket under the windshield wiper of his V8 Vantage… So even police officers make the mistake of spelling ASTON Martin as AUSTIN Martin. Sigh…
