Last week (5 – 9 February) in Paris, the Retromobile fair was held, a great event with classic cars and the history of motorsports. One of the cars offered at the auction during this event was this 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT (series IV) and it got sold for €1.184.500,-.
This car with chassis number DB4/886/L is one of the rarest variants of the DB4. It is one of five series IV cars and it is LHD. The car has had three owners and has 48.000 miles on the clock. In 2005 it underwent a complete restoration (body, mechanical, engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical and more). The body was repainted in Deep Carriage Green and the interior was completely renovated using original materials.
About the Aston Martin DB4 GT:
The DB4 GT was unveiled at the London Motor Show in 1959. It has an engine with double ignition and three 45 DCOE Weber carburators. It would deliver 302 hp on paper, but the true power was 30 hp lower. Only five DB4 GTs have been produced, between 1958 and 1963. Of this five GT’s, three were LHD.
