In July we learned that Aston Martin and AMG are planning to work together, that is, AMG will deliver V8 engines for future Aston Martin models. However, it now seems that the first results of that cooperation could take another 3 to 4 years.
At the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche said:
When you make decisions like this it usually takes three to four years to see the results.
In my understanding, these new engines would appear in the next Vantage. Does the above mean it will take another 3 to 4 years before we’ll see a new Vantage?
The current Vantage has been around since 2005, so I was hoping we would see the new one earlier than that. Keeping the current model alive for another 4 years may be stretching it a bit.
Or will we see a new Vantage design using the current V8 engine first?
