Summer 2014 is coming, which means our calendar is filling up with lots of car events. So it’s about time that our favourite summer car, the Cobalt Blue V12 Roadster, gets a nice summer outfit again. Last year, the Roadster was made into a look-a-like of the Vantage GT3 in Bilstein livery. For this summer, we wanted something equally wild, but with an original design.
So we dropped off our blue beauty at JD Customs and they designed and created this spectacular Union Jack style wrap:
The Union Jack design
I know, Union Jack liveries have been before, but not like this. Usually the flag is “draped” on top, with the heart of the flag in the center of the roof, the red bars coming down over the sides, front and rear of the car.
But this being a Roadster, we had to come up with something different. So the guys at JD Customs designed this brilliant livery, with the heart of the Union Jack on the front grille of the car, the red bars flowing over the roof and the sides, through the rear lamps, meeting at the rear end.
The wrapping, step-by-step
Creating and applying the Union Jack wrap took 4 full days. Here’s some pictures that show the process, going from the naked blue to the full Agent 002 Union Jack.
