This week my V12 Vanquish S was at WrapMyRide.
No, don’t worry, not to have it wrapped in some wild color like I have done to my Vantages in the past. The Vanquish is going to stay as is, in its’ gorgeous Tungsten Silver.
It was at WrapMyRide to be partly wrapped in Xpel Ultimate paint protection film.
About Xpel Ultimate
Quoted from the Xpel website:
XPEL ULTIMATE sheds contaminants that would otherwise stain or yellow conventional films. In addition, the clear coat employs special elastomeric polymers that “heal” over time eliminating swirl marks and other fine scratches without having to do anything.
And it comes with a 10 year warranty. On a wrap!
Preparation
Before the actual wrapping work is started, the car is cleaned thoroughly and the license plate is removed.
Applying the template parts
Next up, applying all the parts from the ready-made Vanquish template supplied by XPel.
Custom work : wrapping the A-pillar
Strangely enough, the Xpel template for the Vanquish did not come with a ready-made part for the A-pillars, a part where the paint is likely to be damaged by stone chips.
So the guys at WrapMyRide made their own. First applying a temporary piece of wrap on the car, drawing the outlines of the A-pillar on it, scanning the outline, correcting the outline on the computer, then cutting the shape in Xpel film using their automatic cutting machine.
Then finally, the custom made A-pillar shape could be applied to the car.
All done, all shiny, all protected!
My precious, now protected against stone chipping.
