With the Isle of Skye so close to the location of our hotel (not a coincidence of course), we just had to visit the island. So that was the destination of the fifth day of our Scotland tour.
Getting the group together in front of the Torridon Hotel
I realized I did not post any photos of the Torridon Hotel itself yet, so here it is, with most of the Astons already gathering in front of the hotel, eager to take off.
As you can see, this was a pretty gloomy day, with fog and some rain even.
Crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is connected to the “main land” via this one bridge.
Here’s a video of Billy Bilstein crossing the bridge:
Lunch at the Viewfield House in Portree
First stop on the Isle of Skye was the Viewfield House in Portree. We had arrangements to have lunch there, but strangely enough the owner had completely forgot we were coming. Imagine seeing 16 Aston Martins parking around your place, unexpectedly ๐ Luckily the owner and his employees were kind enough to whip up some lunch for us anyway…
A beautiful location, only made more beautiful by the presence of the Astons ๐
Compilation video: rounding the Isle of Skye
After lunch, we continued our way around the northern part of the Isle of Skye. In the north, around Staffin, we made a short detour up to the viewpoint, over a nice single track mountain road (check 1:39 in the video). Later in the day, the weather got better so we could speed up a bit, until we hit upon a herd of cows (at 2:31 in the video) ๐
