It’s here and it’s stunning: the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept!
I was very much looking forward to see this car. A V12 Vantage based open car, with its’ styling based on the classic DBR1. I was wondering how that would turn out.
Well, it’s even better than I hoped it would be. Just look at it:

From the press-release:
Features hint at potential future design direction

Automated sequential manual gearbox
Also from the press-release:
The CC100 utilises the latest generation AM11 naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine mated to a six-speed hydraulically actuated automated sequential manual transmission. Controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts the lightweight ‘box delivers truly sporting changes perfectly suited to the Speedster’s track-focused nature.
Interesting, that is a first and surely a sign of things to come.
Will the next V12 Vantage use this gearbox too?
